For Living Good Moments

No noise. Just ocean.

We sit on the quietest stretch of the seafront, far from the bars and traffic of the town center. At Oceanic, nights follow the rhythm of the sea — waves, breeze, and the natural sounds that make real rest possible.

Cabins with character

Each space was designed to feel like a refuge: private entrance, your own garden, and a balcony where many guests find their favorite moment of the day. Simple, welcoming, made for switching off — whether you're reading, watching the landscape, or just letting time pass.

30 meters from the Pacific

The ocean is part of every moment. It's the first thing you see when you wake up and the last sound before you sleep. From the property you walk directly to the beach — perfect for barefoot sunsets.

Humpback whales during whale watching in Puerto López, Manabí, Ecuador

Whale watching in Puerto López

Every year between June and September, humpback whales arrive from Antarctica to mate and give birth in the warm waters off Puerto López. Watching tours depart from the pier — a short walk from the lodge — on boats that get close enough to see them breach and slap the water with their tails. For many guests, this is the main reason they came.

Blue-footed boobies on Isla de la Plata, Ecuador

Isla de la Plata – Machalilla National Park

Known as "the poor man's Galápagos" — without traveling 1,000 km offshore, you can walk among blue-footed boobies, frigatebirds, and albatrosses. The boat crossing takes about ninety minutes from Puerto López and includes snorkeling in clear water where sea turtles are common. A full-day excursion for those who want something more adventurous than the beach.

Playa Los Frailes inside Machalilla National Park, Ecuador

Playa Los Frailes, Manabí

White sand, turquoise water, and not a single beach chair or food stall in sight. Los Frailes is protected inside Machalilla National Park, so it stays pristine. You arrive on a trail that winds through cliffs and dry tropical forest with ocean viewpoints, about 15 minutes by car from the lodge. Worth going early, before the midday tour groups arrive.

Sulfur lagoon at Agua Blanca and Manteña archaeological site in Manabí, Ecuador

Agua Blanca and Manteña culture

A local community manages this site where the Manteña culture lived over 700 years ago. The archaeological museum holds original artifacts found on-site, and nearby there's a milky-white sulfur lagoon you can swim in — many say the mud is good for your skin. A different kind of morning — half history, half nature — just 10 km from the lodge.

Artisanal fishing at the pier of Puerto López, Manabí, Ecuador

Artisanal fishing

Every morning, very early, the fishermen of Puerto López return to shore with the day's catch and sell it directly from their painted boats. It's a ritual that has lasted generations, and you can witness it by walking to the pier steps from the lodge: the fish auction, the gulls fighting over scraps, a whole town waking up. Completely authentic, with no tourist staging.

Fisherman's Monument on the Puerto López seafront, Manabí, Ecuador

Town center & seafront

A 10-minute walk from the lodge brings you to the heart of Puerto López: the Fisherman's Monument, handmade craft stalls with seeds, tagua, and shells, and the tourist pier where boats depart for Isla de la Plata. At sunset the whole strip fills with strollers, street vendors, and the best light to watch the sun drop into the Pacific.
